Placed in the period frame by the dealer I purchased it from

which at first I took for stone

c. 1940s Folk Art Matchbook Wreath Meerschaum pipe bowl Framed as foundI've had a few cigarette pack folk art creations, but never one made from matchbooks, and what a great looking thing which also feels all about potential, holding in itself a whole lot of capacity for combustion! Made up of a variety of different matchbooks, grouped in segments, adding up to a whole lot of terrific found color and pattern, with it seems a careful eye by its maker to choose reds and blues and yellows. I'm not entirely sure what one was
